Woodies Goodies® Maple Apple Butter and Brown Sugar Pork Butt

This is our twist on the traditional oven-baked pork butt. We use our Woodies Goodies Maple Apple Butter to baste after slow-roasting for 4.5 hours, which makes this pork dish tangy, succulent and so delicious! Serve with your favorite veggies, potatoes or rice.

Yields8 Servings

Makes 4 pounds of pork butt

 14 oz Woodies Goodies Maple Apple Butter
 4 lbs pork butt or Boston butt
 1.50 cups brown sugar
 2 tsp sweet paprika
 1 tsp salt
 1 tsp black pepper
 1 tbsp garlic powder
 1 tsp onion powder

Pre-heat the oven to 250 degrees F.

Mix together all dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

Line a roasting pan with foil.

Rub the pork butt all over with the brown sugar mixture.

Place the pork butt in another piece of foil, and wrap tightly to make sure no liquids come out.

Bake for about 4 ½ hours, then remove the foil from the top to drain excess liquid.

Turn the oven temperature to 350 degrees F.

Top with Woodies Goodies Maple Apple Butter, cover with foil and bake for another 1 ½ hours. The pork meat should be soft and easily pulled apart when done. Mix the pork with the glaze.
